Pain in the lower back is something common which occurs to most of the people who used to drive and that too for people driving a longer distance. They will encounter soreness or pain in their lower back which will affect their daily activities. But still there are ways with which you can avoid getting back pain. Given below are some ideas which you can follow so that you won’t be able to get the back pain and also something which you can avoid where the reason for the back pain.
Usually people used to keep their wallet and a lot of other small things in their back pocket. This while driving, will make them to sit slightly in a slanting position which will give pressure to your back which can be avoided by emptying your back pocket before driving. This also prevents you from straining your spine when each time you want to get things from your back. So the first step that you can do to prevent the back pain will be emptying your back pocket.

The next thing which you have to see to it is the belt you wear in your waist. If it is tight, then it has to be loosened while driving as a tight belt will surely give more pressure to your back which results in the severe lower back pain over a period of years. You can even loosen your pant buttons which ensure that there won’t be pressure in your lower back.

Get Lumbar Support

You can even give support to your lower lumbar region while driving in order to avoid the stress felt in that part of your body. This you can do easily with the help of a towel which when folded in a rectangular shape and placed between the seat and your back will give comfort. Even today’s cars have an option which gives support to the lumbar region by making adjustments to the seat. But this is not available in all the cars as well as some find it not suitable also. So the best option will be using towels which can be adjusted by the person who drives the car accordingly in the area where the support is preferred.




The sitting posture is also important factor which has to be considered while driving to prevent your back from stress and pain. With slight modification in your sitting posture will really relax you a lot. For that you can just move the seat front or back or just up or little down which way you think you can be comfortable with.

Also it is necessary that you should take break at regular intervals in case if you are in a long drive. Or else you are not only straining your body but also your car. As you need rest to relax the car should also be given some time off from running to own it for a long run. So it becomes must to take break in every two hours during your long distance driving. Once you stop to take a break the first thing you should do is to relax your body which is tightened due to the driving, by doing simple stretching.

Thus by keeping in mind and following the ideas shared above you can easily get rid of pain in your lower lumbar region.
